What Other Types of Credits Will UAGC Accept?

Get credit for previous corporate training, continuing education units, prior school credits, or other non-traditional sources of previous learning that are not accepted through the registrar’s office evaluation. You can request to have them reviewed through Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) for credit. Undergraduate students who are approved to be CHAMPS mentors may also earn credits through the PLA program.

Part of PLA, the Experiential Learning Credit (ELC) workshop offers a convenient way to turn your experience into credit. Complete a self-paced series of five modules that show you how to write an experiential essay that aligns with learning outcomes of a course in your degree program. Your completed essay will be evaluated by a subject matter expert for credit.

UAGC recognizes that students learn a lot from boot camp, basic training, officer training school, and many other courses provided by the military. Upon enrollment, UAGC will request your Joint Services Transcript (JST) along with any other college transcripts on your behalf.

Several organizations offer courses that have been recommended for college credit by national credit recommendation services, like ACE (American Council on Education) and NCCRS (National College Credit Recommendation Service).

If you feel competent in a specific subject area, many organizations offer exams you can take for a fee. When you pass, you’ll earn college credit and have that course requirement met.

The transferability of credits is subject to the University of Arizona Global Campus transfer credit policies and requires the submission of official transcripts. The official transcripts will be evaluated to determine the credits that will officially apply toward a UAGC degree program.
† Savings on tuition and fees available to those who qualify. $6,450/year is bachelor’s tuition savings based on completing 30 credits per calendar year. Savings will be prorated if students complete less than 30 credits per calendar year.
