Transfer-friendly Policies for All Students
The University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC) is committed to helping students maximize their transfer credits and get to graduation faster. That’s why we offer a variety of ways, traditional and non-traditional, to earn college credit. See our catalog for our full transfer credit policies.
Types of Non-traditional Credit You Can Use at UAGC
-
You may be able to earn credit for your military training and experience. Your Joint Services Transcript (JST) will include any American Council on Education (ACE) recommended credit and UAGC will review it for possible transfer.
-
You may pursue credit for your unique mix of work experience, previous corporate training, continuing education units, or other non-traditional sources of previous learning that do not carry approved-accredited traditional or ACE/NCCRS-recommended credit through UAGC Prior Learning Assessment (PLA). Students may pursue PLA credit using one or both of the options offered: Sponsored Professional Training and Experiential Learning Credit Essay.
-
Students in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at UAGC may be eligible to receive up to 20 non-traditional elective credits through PLA for completing the NCLEX-RN® exam. Students should wait until all previous post-secondary coursework has been reviewed and then contact their Academic Advisor to determine if there is a need for the exam to be reviewed for college credit. To request the credit to be applied, students must complete the application for NCLEX-RN Exam Credit, provide a copy of their current RN license, write a 1- to 3-page essay, and submit all documents to [email protected].
-
If you feel competent in a specific subject area, many organizations offer exams you can take for a fee. When you pass, you could earn recommended-college credit that may meet one of your unique remaining course requirements. Talk to your Academic Advisor on how your credits may apply and confirm they will fill some of your unique remaining degree requirements.
-
Several organizations offer courses that have been recommended for college credit by national credit recommendation services, including American Council on Education (ACE) and National College Credit Recommendation Service (NCCRS). UAGC has created transfer guides for some popular organizations/trainings. Don’t see an organization listed that offers training with recommended credit? Talk to your Academic Advisor on how your credits may apply and confirm they will fill some of your unique remaining degree requirements.
-
UAGC has partnered directly with multiple non-traditional education organizations to provide you a path to fulfill general education, prerequisites, electives, or even major courses by taking self-paced online courses. You may be able to take them at the same time as your UAGC courses and transfer them as they are successfully completed. Talk to your Academic Advisor on how these credits may apply and confirm they will fill some of your unique remaining degree requirements.

The transferability of credits is subject to the University of Arizona Global Campus transfer credit policies and requires the submission of official transcripts. The official transcripts will be evaluated by the Registrar’s Office to determine the credits that will officially apply toward a UAGC degree program. Credits must be earned at the same degree level in order to be applied. Additional restrictions may apply. See the UAGC Academic Catalog for full undergraduate and graduate transfer policies.
