State Authorization Disclosures

The U.S. Department of Education requires that any institution offering online programs to students who reside outside of its home state must acquire authorization from the states in which students reside. Regulations vary from state to state and, as such, federal, state, and institutional policies may limit or prohibit the University of Arizona Global Campus' authorization to deliver online education to students in certain states. The University of Arizona Global Campus will continue to monitor developments in state laws in each state in which it enrolls students and, if authorization or licensure is or becomes necessary, will promptly seek to obtain such approvals. The University of Arizona Global Campus is licensed, registered, authorized, certified, or formally exempt in the following states and territories as indicated below. In the remaining states and territories, the University of Arizona Global Campus either is not required to obtain approval to deliver online education to students residing in the state or has ceased enrolling students residing in the state. For states with an approved status, please be aware that individual programs may not be approved or may be pending approval by a state licensing authority and cannot be offered to students residing in that state. A copy of the documentation describing the institution's licensure, registration, authorization, or certification will be made available to any enrolled or prospective student upon request. To make this request, please contact our State Regulatory Operations team.

Student Complaint State Contact Information

Students are encouraged to use the University procedures outlined in the Student Rights and Responsibilities section of this Catalog to informally or formally file complaints. Any student may contact his or her specific state agency directly to register a complaint. See below for information on registering a complaint in your state.

Information on Registering a Complaint with a State

The University takes active steps to provide a positive learning environment and resources to assist students in meeting their educational goals. Though it always is the University's desire to see students have a dispute-free experience, the University understands that sometimes challenges will arise. While students are able to file a complaint at an external agency, the University provides options for internally resolving a dispute. The University offers internal resolution options through the Resolution Center. The Resolution Center provides the University of Arizona Global Campus students, prospective applicants, alumni, former students and others with concerns about something relating to the student experience with an opportunity to swiftly and fairly resolve any confusion, frustration, or issue. Individuals with an escalated dispute will meet with one of the Center's trained resolution professionals, who will review the situation and guide the individual to the process that is most appropriate for the nature of the concern. Individuals with a concern will have the ability to resolve their concerns informally or through the formal grievance process. (For more information about the Center, please visit the Resolution Center.)

Any student may contact his or her specific state agency directly to register a complaint.

Adverse Action Information

California lawsuit: On March 7, 2022, Zovio received a court order to pay $22.4 million in statutory penalties relating to the California Attorney General’s (CAG) lawsuit, which was originally filed in 2017. Given Zovio’s position that its practices complied at all times with California law, management is currently considering all options available and on April 7 filed a motion for a new trial on the Court’s decision, which is expected to be heard on May 13. Beyond that, options include appealing the decision to the California appellate court.
