With an accelerated online course format and little time to build lasting relationships, adult learners pursuing online education may feel disconnected or unsupported, especially given the additional obligations they face (e.g., work, family life, financial impacts, medical hardships). The focus of this presentation is the exploration of the perceptions and realities of CARE in the online classroom, from the perspective of students, faculty, and staff. What does CARE look like in the classroom and why is it important to understand and reflect upon the gaps between these perceptions to foster greater student success and retention?
