This course will introduce students to the methods for investigating internet crime. Students will learn how to gather evidence, build a case against the perpetrator, and manage an Internet crime scene.

This course provides an analysis of the various issues facing criminal justice and correctional organizations in the context of professional practice, including theoretical concepts and research focused on organizational behavior, management and leadership of human resources, and design and structural processes of such organizations. Included topics are fiscal accountability; personnel deployment; implementation of change, motivation and retention of personnel, the hiring, assignment, and promotion of personnel, organizational communication; professional development, emerging technologies, and applicable legal issues as they pertain to agency operations.

This course is designed to explain how data can be interpreted and used by managers in making decisions. Additionally, this course introduces the student to the analysis and interpretation of financial reports. Enrollment in ACC 208 is not permitted if the student has completed a college level accounting course, transferred in, or previously completed any accounting course at UAGC.

This course investigates the role of communication in creating an effective and ethical organizational environment. Students will be assisted in developing and strengthening such communication skills as self- awareness, intrapersonal efficacy, interpersonal competence, and leadership and team skills.

This course presents the ethical and legal implications for health care operations and the delivery of health care services. The unique legal aspects encountered in the provision of health services are analyzed. Legal and ethical issues challenging the provision of health care services will be explored. Students will analyze concepts regarding risk management, continuous quality improvement, guardianship designations, and institutional ethical structures. Additionally, students will learn how moral and ethical behaviors may conflict with medical law. Precedent-setting case studies of moral, ethical, and legal decisions are integrated into the course assignments to provide a foundational understanding of leadership decision-making in the health care setting. Prerequisites: GRO 325, HCA 305, HCA 205, HPR 201, HPR 231 or NUR 300.

 

This course introduces managerial accounting concepts to support decision-making within organizations. Topics covered include cost behavior, cost allocation, and budgeting. Emphasis is placed on financial analysis, performance evaluation, and management reports. Prerequisites: ACC 205

Students cannot take ACC 202 to meet the ACC 206 degree requirement without Dean/Program Chair Approval. Students in a version of the BA in Business Administration requiring ACC 206 can take ACC 202 to meet the ACC 206 requirement without Dean/Program Chair approval.

This course provides an international perspective on law enforcement. Students will focus on the phenomena of globalization of criminal activity, major aspects of the legal traditions and criminal justice systems of selected countries, as well as international legal and law enforcement institutions.

This course examines theoretical and applied criminal justice ethical standards as they relate to criminal justice decision-making. Students will evaluate issues concerning discretion, due process, truthfulness, corruption, and discrimination.

This course introduces the principles of financial accounting and reporting. Emphasis is placed on the accounting cycle and the application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to evaluate and record business transactions. Students will learn to prepare financial statements and analyze financial information to support business decisions.

Students cannot take ACC 201 to meet the ACC 205 degree requirement without Dean/Program Chair Approval. Students in a version of the BA in Business Administration requiring ACC 205 can take ACC 201 to meet the ACC 205 requirement without Dean/Program Chair approval.

This course introduces students to the process of, and conventions used in, print, broadcast, and digital media writing. Students will learn how to inform, entertain, and influence public opinion and consumer choices. Students will practice a range of skills necessary to be effective media content producers. Emphasis is on gathering information, writing styles, editing, and organization of written communication.
