When Dr. Frank Guevara began his undergraduate studies at Stanford University, he had his sights set on becoming a medical doctor. 

The day he walked into the Bing Nursery School, a laboratory school in the Department of Psychology at Stanford, however, his life changed forever. 

The Dean’s List. It’s an accomplishment every determined UAGC student hopes to attain. Released twice a year for the spring and fall, it recognizes undergraduate students who earn a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher and who have completed 12 or more credits – including at least one course since the time the previous Dean’s List was published.

“Evolve or die” is a mantra by which many businesses operate, and the task of identifying opportunity and plotting the next evolution often falls to the business analyst. This role doesn’t require a crystal ball, but rather a profound understanding of your company, your people, and your industry, combined with the critical thinking skills needed to confidently chart a course for the future. 

Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Dr. Karen Ivy’s mom had one rule for her three daughters: 

“You can’t turn your nose up if you’ve never tried it. Try it first to find out if you like it or not.” That applied to what was on the dinner table or what was on their to-do lists, explains Dr. Ivy,  Department Chair for the Department of Technology Studies at the College of Professional Advancement. 

Although marketing has roots in simple exchanges of early human societies, it has evolved drastically and become one of the key business functions since the beginning of the twentieth century. Fast forward to the end of the twentieth century, and something phenomenal happened when web developers realized that they were able to track online visitors who reached their websites. Gathering data from online users initiated an enormous opportunity for marketers as the Internet immediately brought customers to digital storefronts.
