Today, it has become the new norm for many organizations with one in five employees working from home. Although some organizations have since returned to their pre-pandemic routines and the number of job postings for full-time remote work are on a slight decline, it is clear the movement is no longer a temporary trend.

Having spent more than 25 years leading and mentoring athletes in sports of nearly every type, it’s safe to say that Dr. Tim Rice is a coach to his very core. 

When it comes to education, that passion for teaching and connecting with others has been fueled by one prevailing philosophy. 

“I believe every person has the innate ability to accomplish truly great things,” says Dr. Rice. “You just have to have a positive mindset to achieve it. “Can’t can’t exist.”

Throughout my career as an independent distributor, sales and marketing manager, director, executive, and still today as an educator, I value people and the networks I am a part of.

As I grew in my career, I worked to understand every situation, its context, and culture.

Experiential learning has occurred through the years of my successful progressive career. I have learned, communicated, and contributed many times as an employee and manager at all levels within the organizations I have served. 

During this time, I have made a few observations about learning and communication in organizations. Here, I share some of these concepts and how they can apply to your life and career.

As children, we were all asked what we wanted to be when we grew up. The University of Arizona Global Campus Instructor Holly Ourso not only knew what she wanted to do, but she was already doing it.

Derek was shocked. He didn’t get the job, though he was by far the most qualified applicant. We need someone who not only has skills but can sell those skills to others.”
