Alisha Powell, PhD, LICSW

Alisha Powell, PhD, LCSW, graduated from the University of Denver with her graduate degree in social work (MSW) and completed her undergraduate degree (BSW) at Oakwood University. She completed post-graduate studies in Marriage and Family Therapy and completed her doctorate in social psychology at Walden University. Dr. Powell has experience working in a variety of settings that have included long term care, hospitals, outpatient clinics, and residential treatment centers working with clients from all walks of life. Dr. Powell currently works as an Assistant Professor of Psychology and teaches undergraduate and graduate students. Her areas of special practice include couples therapy, assessment, mental health and working with minority populations. Dr. Powell is also passionate about being a lifelong learner and empowering individuals to develop and maintain healthy interpersonal relationships. In her spare time, Dr. Powell enjoys international and domestic travel and blogging about her experiences.
