Biography

Dr. Breon Haskett serves as an Assistant Professor in the Global College of Professional Advancement at the University of Arizona Global Campus, where he teaches courses in organizational management and leadership development. His work as an educator is grounded in the belief that learning is most powerful when it is relational, challenging, and transformative. Drawing from both scholarship and experience, Dr. Haskett fosters learning environments that emphasize critical thinking, self-awareness, and the practical application of leadership theory to complex organizational realities.

Before entering higher education, Dr. Haskett served the Nation for 25 years in the United States Marine Corps, where he held progressive leadership and strategic management roles. His military service provided a foundation for his lifelong interest in how people lead, follow, and grow together through purposeful collaboration. Following his retirement, he transitioned to the civilian sector as a leadership consultant, executive mentor, and nonprofit director, helping organizations strengthen culture, communication, and change management practices.

Dr. Haskett’s teaching philosophy centers on the idea that leadership begins with empathy and accountability. He integrates trauma-informed and student-centered pedagogy into his classroom, encouraging learners to engage in reflective practice while applying theoretical concepts to real-world challenges. His courses often include scenario-based learning, intercultural dialogue, and applied strategy projects that prepare students to think critically, lead ethically, and navigate diverse organizational contexts.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Averett University, a Master of Arts in Leadership and Organizational Behavior from Shorter University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Education with a specialization in Organizational Leadership from Northcentral University. Dr. Haskett is also certified as a Six Sigma Green Belt and Master Trainer. His ongoing research explores the intersection of trauma-informed teaching, emotional intelligence, and organizational leadership.

At UAGC, Dr. Haskett continues to model the university’s Culture of Care by blending scholarly rigor with compassion, helping students not only achieve academic success but also grow as leaders in their professions and communities.
