
Shelley Evans, PhD
Biography
Dr. Shelley Evans is Assistant Professor of Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences at University of Arizona Global Campus. She also teaches courses in the Education Studies program. Dr. Evans received a PhD in Psychology, Cognition and Instruction from Grand Canyon University and a master’s degree in Special Education from National University. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in special education from Michigan State University.
Dr. Evans began her career teaching high school special education and started teaching in higher education in 2009. She has over a decade of experience teaching psychology and education courses across undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. She also held the role of instructional designer for Wake Technical Community College and a highlight of that experience was receiving the Blackboard Exemplary Course Global Award for a collaborative psychology course design. Her research interests include online learning and teaching strategies, student retention, personality factors, motivation, course design, and inclusive education. Dr. Evans has presented on these topics at regional, national, and international conferences.
