Culture of Care Summit - Day 1

Creative Care Corner: Caring for Others Through Music

Creative Corner
Return to CoC Summit

Activities related to music provide a variety of positive effects on mental and physical health and well-being for individuals across diverse age groups, cultures, and settings (Dingle et al., 2021). Music is frequently included in interactions with children to enhance stress relief and coping in children during hospitalization (Facchini & Ruini, 2021). In this session, Yolanda Harper will share examples from her work with a non-profit organization that provides free, personalized songs for children and youth with serious medical, physical, or emotional challenges. In addition, participants will also have an opportunity to engage in a songwriting exercise.
