Culture of Care Summit - Day 1

Academic Accommodations in the Spirit of Culture of Care: Bane or Boon?

Caring in Education
Return to CoC Summit

In this engaging session, we'll embark on a thoughtful exploration of the fundamental link between fostering a culture of care and implementing academic accommodations within educational spaces. Drawing on real-life examples, and research, we'll discuss the intricate balance between accountability and support in academic settings. Participants will be encouraged to reflect on their own institutional practices, considering how a culture of care can redefine academic responsibility without compromising achievement. Our session will challenge conventional notions surrounding academic accommodations the culture of care can have on the academic experience, by exploring contrasting viewpoints represented by Bane and Boone schools of thought.
