Biography

Tonya believes play is the key to language and learning. Tonya specialized in preschool speech as well as autism. She has worked as a Parent Educator for the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind and was the Director of the Parent Education and Family Literacy Program. Tonya's passion for education has always been present, as she served as a state Early Childhood Development trainer and adjunct faculty at ECD Midlands Tech, presented at a variety of state conferences as well as the National Head Start Convention in 2019 and Region 9 Head Start in 2022. Tonya is certified in Pyramid Model, Brain Gym, and Handwriting Without Tears, and is a Certified Autism Informed Professional. While she likes impacting the children and families she serves, she LOVES facilitating training for early childhood teachers.
