Biography

Dr. Lynne Trevisan is a lead faculty – associate professor in the College of Arts and Sciences. She began her career with Ashford University, now the University of Arizona Global Campus in 2009, beginning as an instructional specialist, then moving into Academic Resolution where she adjudicated grade appeals and the outcomes for plagiarism referrals. Dr. Trevisan began teaching full-time in March 2012. She teaches in the Health Care Administration and Health and Wellness programs. As part of her role as a Lead Faculty, Dr. Trevisan has developed or revised numerous classes for UAGC. She serves on the Student Academic Progress appeals committee and the Credit Hour Analysis committee. She previously served on the Student Community Standards, Discussion Policy Task Force, and Originality Matters committees. She is a reviewer for Prior Learning Assessment submissions. Additionally, she has participated in several program reviews within the College of Arts and Sciences.

Dr. Trevisan earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2000 from Palmer College of Chiropractic. After graduating, Dr. Trevisan had a small chiropractic practice for nearly a decade. She also taught in the classroom at a local community college, covering topics such as anatomy and physiology, biology, microbiology, nutrition, health and wellness, and nutrition for dental assistants. She is a native Iowan; she grew up and still lives along the Mississippi River on the eastern border of Iowa, along with her husband and pets, and loves to travel and cook. A personal goal for her future is to write a cookbook…eventually.

Dr. Trevisan’s teaching style is to share knowledge with students to best prepare them for what they will be expected to know when they reach their careers. This covers a wide variety of topics as well as skill sets. She knows students bring their own experiences to the classroom, and states, “I learn more from my students than they ever learn from me. The knowledge my students share from their own lives is remarkable and deeply appreciated.”
