Biography
John Ackerman is an assistant professor at the University of Arizona Global Campus, where he teaches courses in political science. He holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Florida State University, a master’s degree in Military Operational Art and Science from the U.S. Air Force’s Air Command and Staff College, another master’s degree in Information Systems Management from Golden Gate University, and he holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science from The University of Alabama. Dr. Ackerman’s teaching and curriculum development experience comes from the US Air Force, where he has held a wide variety of instructional positions. “Find career fields that incite your sense of wonder and excitement,” he says, “and your desire to continue your educational journey.” Dr. Ackerman and his wife have two grown children. Their hobbies include nature watching, hiking, and protecting our natural resources.
