Global Campus Bridge Grant

You may be eligible to earn a Bridge Grant to help cover out of pocket expenses for your first academic year!

What is the Bridge Grant?

The Bridge Grant is intended to support you financially in your first academic year with the University of Arizona Global Campus, regardless of your selected payment option, if you matriculate.

Who is eligible?

You must first complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to determine if there is an unmet direct cost from tuition, course digital material, and technology fee charges. In addition to the FAFSA, if you are transferring credits from other institutions, you must have your credits received, reviewed, and applied by the University of Arizona Global Campus to your program of study.

Note: If you are receiving other institutional grants or discounts from the University of Arizona Global Campus, you do not qualify for the Bridge Grant.

What does the Bridge Grant cover?

The Bridge Grant may cover up to $4,810.00 if you are in your first academic year with the University of Arizona Global Campus and matriculate. The amount of funding you may receive is individually determined on a need basis.

Can I still earn a Bridge Grant if I don’t plan on using financial aid?

You are not required to use financial aid in order to receive this grant. However, you are required to complete a FAFSA to determine eligibility. The FAFSA and all verification documents must be completed within 30 days from your start date to see if there is eligibility for the grant.

What are all the things I need to do in order to qualify for this grant?

As an undergraduate degree-seeking student who will matriculate, you may be eligible for the Bridge Grant if you meet the following conditions:

  1. Complete a FAFSA and any required verification steps,
  2. Have unmet direct costs when calculating need at maximum eligibility of financial aid (based on an independent student with no aggregate loan limit constraints or overlapping loans),
  3. Successfully complete four courses in 26 weeks for each payment period, and
  4. Maintain good academic standing.

When will the Bridge Grant be applied to my account?

The Bridge Grant is disbursed in 2 payments. The first disbursement will be applied once you have successfully completed your first payment period. The second disbursement will be applied after the end of your second payment period.

What if I fail or drop a course? What if I need to take a break between courses?

You are allowed to have 6 weeks of unsuccessful progression per payment period which can be comprised of retaking a course or weeks off between courses (either unofficial breaks or an academic leave). You can take breaks of up to 6 weeks per payment period as long as you do not have any unsuccessful course attempts.

Terms & Conditions

Undergraduate degree seeking new or readmit students who matriculate may be eligible for the Bridge Grant if they meet the following conditions: 1) Complete a FAFSA and any required verification steps within 30 days from the start date of their first course; 2) Have unmet direct costs when calculating need at maximum eligibility of financial aid (based on independent student funding with no aggregate loan limit constraints or overlapping loans); 3) Successfully complete four courses in 26 weeks for each payment period (the first payment period must be completed successfully in order to remain eligible for the second payment period); and 4) Maintain good academic standing. The Bridge Grant applies to eligible student accounts after the successful completion of each payment period in their first academic year. Students are still subject to the terms and conditions of their selected payment option(s). The Bridge Grant eligibility is limited to a student’s first academic year and cannot be used in conjunction with any other institutional grant or discount. Eligible students can appeal the loss of eligibility of the Bridge Grant due to special circumstances by speaking with a Financial Services Manager (additional documentation may be requested).
