The University of Arizona Global Campus unveils insights on nurturing a supportive online learning environment

RES 7120 will build upon fundamental concepts for conducting effective research introduced in RES7115, including critical analysis of ideas and information. Students will incorporate ethical considerations as they explore various research approaches. They will solidify the background and rationale for proposed research aligned with their respective program content, including application of relevant conceptual and theoretical frameworks in an elaborated literature review. Key outcomes include skills for generating research for scholarly and professional application. Prerequisite: RES 7115.

RES 7115 will introduce students to the foundations for conducting effective research. Students will develop critical thinking skills to support doctoral research endeavors, learning how to craft logical arguments based on thorough evaluation of the literature. They will explore different types of sources to develop the background and rationale for doctoral research as applied to their respective program content.  Key outcomes include critical analysis of scholarly research and application of conceptual and theoretical frameworks to support development of individual research aspirations.

Students will examine models of health, stress, and wellbeing and evaluate their applications in diverse community and occupational settings, with attention to disparities and inequities that serve as barriers to health and wellbeing. Students will explore evidence-based behavioral change and health communication strategies to promote equitable access and information-sharing in their communities and workplaces. Prerequisite: PSY 645.

In this course, students will explore the fundamentals of the Kotlin programming language. Kotlin is used in mobile application development, game development, web development, and Data Science. Topics will include Kotlin’s architecture, data types, variables, operators, and functions.

In this course, students will examine the fundamentals of the Ionic framework. Ionic is an open-source user interface toolkit used to create mobile applications by using web technologies to integrate with other frameworks. Topics will include Ionics’s user interface components, hybrid and native mobile apps, and Ionic development environments.

This course introduces students to advanced programming with JavaScript. Students will learn about the syntax of JavaScript commands and operators, including variables, arrays, functions, and event handlers. In this course, students will apply concepts and features of object-oriented programming. Prerequisite: CST 301.

This course provides for analysis of some of the major types of security. Students will explore the concept of human security, including facets and applications. Students will also examine some environmental threats and challenges associated with environmental security. Cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities will also be analyzed with a particular focus on critical infrastructure systems.
