Math isn’t for everybody. Just ask Renata Falls-Jefferson. When the 46-year-old mom began her studies at Ashford University* in 2015, one of her greatest worries was passing the Algebra I and II courses required to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration.
“I had dreaded the classes because I was out of school so long and did not think that I would perform well,” Renata recalls.
With an entrepreneurial spirit bolstered by his eagerness to grow and transform for the better, Cameron Lee Fields represents the best of Ashford University’s* student body. He may not have all of the answers every time, but that’s not going to stop him from achieving every goal in his path.
“I have been called both an iconoclast and a conventionalist,” he says. “But at heart, I am a follower of truth, and that has led me to Ashford University.”

Victoria McCune is living proof that good things come to those who wait.
For 13 years, she struggled to find the “why” in her life and fulfill a dream that had been tugging at her heart from the moment she left high school in 2004. Her dream finally came true in the summer of 2017 when she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Ashford University*.
Motivation and Inspiration
Often in life, you must overcome your greatest fears to achieve your greatest successes.
Evelyn Vedasto knew her path to success would require a college education. She’d earned her associate degree in 2011 but kept delaying her bachelor’s degree, partly because of her busy schedule but also because she was afraid of online learning. Before she knew it, time had slipped by.
“The next thing I knew, it was 2014,” she recalls.
Imani Amia Frederickson credits her father with passing down the strong, disciplined work ethic he acquired as a U.S. Marine. It’s a work ethic that served her well during her own four-year enlistment in the Air Force, as well as her simultaneous pursuit of a college degree at Ashford University*.
After eight years of service in the United States Navy, including six years in Japan and “a good portion” of Asia, Weston Warr started to contemplate beyond the armed forces.
“Getting a college degree has always been one of my bigger life goals,” he says, adding that a degree would help him provide “a proper life” for his family after a career of service.
