The big day is here. Ashford University is now the University of Arizona Global Campus. We may have changed our name, but our passion for helping students achieve their personal and professional goals remains as strong as ever.

Global Campus continues Ashford’s legacy as a fully online university, providing access to high-quality higher education with flexible opportunities for students from diverse backgrounds to achieve their educational and life goals.

“There has never been a time when access to quality higher education was more important than now,” says Dr. Nivine Megahed, chair of the Global Campus board of directors. “Our society’s future, both socially and economically, depends on our ability to increase educational opportunities for all, especially those who have been underserved,” she said.

How Does This Impact You?

You may be wondering what this means. First, it’s important for current students to know that you’ll be able to continue your degree program without interruption, while also taking pride in the Global Campus affiliation with the University of Arizona, one of the nation’s premier research institutions.

Global Campus is affiliated with the University of Arizona but has been established as a separate university with its own accreditation, programs, and faculty. Global Campus will continue to operate from its headquarters in San Diego, California. Leadership from both universities will look for synergies and collaborative opportunities to benefit their students, faculty, and staff. Ashford and Global Campus credits are transferrable to The University of Arizona just as they always have been.

“The leadership of the Forbes School of Business and Technology® is thrilled for our students, alumni, and faculty,” says Bob Daugherty, dean and professor of strategy and finance at the Forbes School of Business and Technology. “UAGC’s affiliation with the University of Arizona  can create tremendous value, and this partnership will likely do just that, especially for our current and future students.”

Iris Lafferty, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, echoes Dean Daugherty’s sentiment.

“We look forward to what this affiliation promises and are excited to bring our heart for students, and our expertise in online teaching to The University of Arizona partnership,” she says.

Global Campus continues to work toward achieving nonprofit status. This is an ongoing process that will continue until all necessary regulatory approvals are in place.

Global Campus also is accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission, 985 Atlantic Avenue, #100, Alameda, CA 94501, 510-748-9001. The university’s accreditation was reaffirmed by the WSCUC for six years with the next reaffirmation review scheduled for 2025.
