Dean at the University of Arizona Global Campus receives Fulbright Specialist Award to travel to Uganda

[Chandler, AZ, August 1, 2023] – Maja Zelihic, dean of the Forbes School of Business and Technology at the University of Arizona Global Campus, has received a prestigious Fulbright Specialist Award to travel to Uganda.

Granted by the U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board, the award will allow Zelihic to work with the Uganda Management Institute on a project that aims to foster knowledge exchange and establish partnerships that will benefit participants, institutions and communities in the United States and overseas.

Through a series of educational and training activities in the field of business administration, the initiative will strengthen academic ties and promote mutual understanding between nations.

"I am deeply honored to receive the Fulbright Specialist Award and to have the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of education and collaboration between our institutions and the Uganda Management Institute," Zelihic said. "This program represents a meaningful step toward building lasting connections and addressing global challenges through international cooperation."

The Fulbright Specialist Program brings together over 400 accomplished U.S. citizens like Zelihic, who share their expertise with esteemed host institutions abroad each year. Selected for their outstanding academic and professional achievements, demonstrated leadership, and potential to foster enduring cooperation between institutions, these recipients serve as cultural ambassadors worldwide.
