Dr. Tamecca Fitzpatrick is a Professor for the Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education Leadership program in the Department of Education and Liberal Arts at the University of Arizona Global Campus. She obtained her Ed.D. specializing in Early Childhood Education from the University of North Texas. Her master’s in Education and bachelor’s degree in psychology were earned at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Her work experience includes positions as an elementary teacher and an adjunct with the University of Memphis. She also served as a Diversity Scholar Lecturer at UNT. Having spent several years in higher education at brick and mortar institutions, Dr. Fitzpatrick began developing hybrid and online classes. She quickly realized that she enjoyed the online learning modality because it allowed her the opportunity to get to know her students on an individual basis, set high yet achievable expectations, and provide differentiated instruction based on each student’s needs. One of her favorite aspects of teaching is the exchange of knowledge and perspectives. She began working with Ashford University, now UAGC, in 2011 and says, “My work here allows me to create an environment which challenges my students, assesses their needs, and supports their learning.” Currently she resides in Collierville, TN, where she remains an active part of the educational community, both regionally and nationally.
