Biography

Dr. Lu is a Professor in the College of Arts and Sciences, where she has taught courses since 2007. She earned a master’s in nutrition from North Dakota State University, a second master’s in health services administration from Central Michigan University, and a Ph.D. in management with a specialization in leadership and organizational change from Walden University. With her dedication and commitment to online learning, she has taught courses at several universities since 2006 and was named to the Provost's Circle at both Ashford University and Strayer University in recognition of her excellence in the online classroom.

Dr. Lu has over 10 years of quality management experience in health care. She implemented Total Quality Management in an ISO-certified hospital and experienced in executing Quality Circles. She has presented at three international conferences and published two to three articles in peer-reviewed journals every year since 2014. In addition to her active research agenda and extensive experience, she received the Distinguished Scholar award from the European Journal of Scientific Research and two Outstanding Reviewer Awards from the Academy of Management (AoM) Health Care Management Division.

She has served as a peer reviewer for several international conferences and peer-reviewed journals and is an advisory member for the Institute of Research Engineers and Scientists, the International Society for Engineering Research and Development, and the Universal Conferences Institute. As an affiliate of the American Society for Quality (ASQ), she served many years as a judge for the ASQ International Team Excellence Award.
