Biography
Dr. Heather Pederson is a Professor in the Division of Health and Behavioral Sciences Professions at the University of Arizona Global Campus. Dr. Pederson began her career in education as a high school English teacher and coached basketball, volleyball, and served as drama director and technology coach for 11 years while continuing her education. She has extensive experience with online higher education and has been leading and teaching in online doctoral programs for two decades. Since 2005, Dr. Pederson has served in various roles, including adjunct faculty, lead full-time faculty, dissertation and applied doctoral project chair & committee member, university research reviewer, Program Chair, and Program Director of Research and Residencies. As a Professor, she is student-focused, goal-oriented, and demonstrates empathy and caring to students and faculty. Dr. Pederson’s research interests include Artificial Intelligence as teaching and learning tools, and online doctoral education initiatives, focusing on evidence-based practices about how to best serve students.
