Biography

Dr. Dan Tinianow is a Professor and Program Chair for Oral and Interpersonal Communication in the Global College of Integrative Learning at the University of Arizona Global Campus.

Dr. Tinianow has taught at numerous colleges over the past few decades, including Syracuse University, Austin College, La Sierra University, Donghua University (in Shanghai, China), and Capital University. He has presented at conferences such as the International Communication Association (ICA), TechEd, Computer Use in Education (CUE), Colorado Learning and Teaching with Technology (COLTT), the Association for Distance Education and Independent Learning (ADEIL), and the Teaching and Learning Conference (TLC).

His publications include a chapter in Religion, Law and Freedom from Praeger Press, a co-authored introductory communication textbook titled Messages in Context, and a public speaking textbook titled New Traditions in Public Speaking, now in its award-winning second edition.

In addition to his academic experience, Dr. Tinianow worked full-time in the entertainment industry from 2001 to 2003, as well as on project-based work in the entertainment, advertising, and marketing industries at various times. He is a certified hypnotherapist and neurolinguistic programming (NLP) master practitioner. Dr. Tinianow has previously lived in Japan and China. He was also once a contestant on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?

Dr. Tinianow currently resides in Denver, Colorado, with his wife, two sons, two dogs, a cat, a bird, and two axolotls.
