Biography
Dr. Amy Johnson is an associate professor and program chair for Associate of Arts in Early Childhood Education in the College of Professional Advancement at the University of Arizona Global Campus. She has worked in the field of education since 1999. Amy earned her PhD in Early Childhood Development and Education from Texas Woman’s University; her MA in Education with a specialization in curriculum and development from Chapman University; her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with a supplemental secondary English credential and cross-cultural, language, and academic development certificate from San Diego Christian College; and her BA in English with an emphasis on creative writing from San Diego State University. She taught self-contained classrooms in each grade level from kindergarten to fifth grade and moved to higher education in 2011. Amy currently holds a Texas teaching certificate, has over 80 publications and presentations, and received commendations for her dissertation research on the childhood homes of prostituted women.
