If you are active-duty military pursuing a master’s degree program and are using Military Tuition Assistance (TA), you may be eligible for Top-Up. Since TA will not cover the complete cost of tuition for a master’s degree, Top-Up (the Floyd D. Spence Act) permits the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)to pay the difference between your actual tuition and what Military TA will not cover.
Who is eligible?
If you are approved for federal TA, you may be eligible for Tuition Assistance Top-Up if you qualify for Montgomery GI Bill® Active Duty (MGIB-AD) or Post-9/11 GI Bill® and the cost of your course tuition and associated fees is more than what is covered by TA.
