This course prepares students to take the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) exam in commercial drone operations. Students explore FAA regulations to operate small unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) in the National Airspace System (NAS) for purposes other than hobby and recreation. This course examines the FAA Part 107 UAS classification, certification, and operating rules.
Special Terms and Conditions: AVI 200 is designed to prepare students to take the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Knowledge Test which is required to be eligible to become a certified drone pilot under the FAA’s Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Rule (Part 107). Certification is granted by the FAA and not by the University of Arizona Global Campus. It is the student’s responsibility to locate an FAA-approved Testing Center and meet all additional requirements for certification.
