In recognition of Veterans Day, the University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC) Student Veterans of America (SVA) Chapter invites the UAGC community to participate in its annual S.T.A.R. (Sharing Time and Resources) letter-writing project.
Students, faculty, staff, and alumni are invited to write letters of gratitude in recognition of the service, sacrifice, and dedication of Veterans and active-duty service members. Letters collected through this project will be printed and delivered to the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center in Phoenix.
This year, the UAGC SVA Chapter has set a goal of collecting 100 letters. You can participate by joining the live letter-writing workshop or by submitting a letter on your own.

Students, faculty, and staff are invited to participate, and family members are welcome to join in, too.
Can’t Attend the Workshop? You Can Still Participate
You do not need to attend the workshop to contribute. Create your letter or drawing on your own and submit it to the UAGC SVA Chapter.
When preparing your submission:
- Address your letter to “Dear Veteran,” “Dear Hero,” or “Dear Service Member.”
- Express your gratitude in your own way. Personal messages, poems, and drawings are welcome.
- Email your letter or drawing as an attachment to militaryclub@uagc.edu by the end of the day Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2026.
- Use “Veterans Letter” as the email subject line.
- If you are comfortable doing so, include your mailing address in the body of your email, not in the letter itself. The UAGC SVA Chapter would like to send participants a token of appreciation.
All submissions will be reviewed before being delivered.
Whether you join the workshop or participate on your own, your words can help the UAGC community show its appreciation for those who have served.
