UAGC Celebrates National Community College Month by Highlighting Transfer Pathways and Student Success

[Chandler, AZ, April 1, 2026] — In recognition of National Community College Month, the University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC) is highlighting the important role community colleges play in expanding access to higher education and supporting bachelor’s degree completion for working adults across Arizona and the nation. As part of this commitment, UAGC recently expanded the Arizona College Partner Benefit, allowing eligible graduates of Arizona-based community colleges to complete remaining bachelor’s-level coursework at UAGC for $295 per credit. As a workforce-focused university for adult learners, UAGC partners with community colleges to help students translate their associate degrees into workforce-aligned bachelor’s programs designed to advance professional growth.

Community colleges serve as a starting point for millions of learners, including working professionals, parents, first-generation college students, and military-connected learners. Through partnerships with community colleges and transfer-friendly pathways, UAGC helps students build on the progress they have already made and continue forward from an associate degree to a workforce-aligned bachelor’s degree, creating a clear pathway for working adults in Arizona’s workforce.

“At UAGC, we recognize the essential role community colleges play in helping students begin their higher education journey,” said Amy Rogers, director of Strategic Partnerships at UAGC. “National Community College Month is an opportunity to celebrate those institutions and the students who start there before continuing their education and advancing their careers.”

UAGC has developed partnerships with select community colleges and institutions of higher education to create trusted transfer pathways for students seeking to continue their education. These partnerships are designed to help students maximize previously earned credentials, including associate degrees, while saving money on tuition and moving efficiently toward degree completion. Through transfer credit evaluations and flexible online programs, students can seamlessly transfer previously earned credits into bachelor’s programs designed to support working adults.

Earlier this year, UAGC expanded the Arizona College Partner Benefit to eligible associate degree graduates from accredited colleges and universities headquartered in Arizona. The initiative reflects an Arizona-focused strategy to support students who complete their associate degrees locally and continue forward to earn a bachelor’s degree aligned with workforce needs across the state. By creating a clear pathway from community college to workforce-aligned bachelor’s degrees, the program helps Arizona residents build skills that contribute to regional industries and economic growth. Under the Arizona College Partner Benefit, eligible graduates may complete remaining bachelor’s-level coursework at UAGC for $295 per credit, helping reduce the financial barrier for students pursuing a four-year degree.

“Many students begin their education close to home at a community college,” Rogers said. “By strengthening transfer pathways and expanding access to bachelor’s degrees, we’re helping more learners continue their education and build careers that contribute to Arizona’s workforce and economy.”

UAGC offers workforce-aligned online bachelor’s degree programs delivered in accelerated five-week courses designed for working adults balancing education with professional and personal responsibilities. Programs emphasize practical skills and applied learning in fields such as business, operations, healthcare, human services, and technology. Through its transfer credit review process, UAGC evaluates official transcripts to determine how previously earned credits may apply toward a selected bachelor’s program. Most bachelor’s degrees require 120 total credits, and students who transfer approximately 60 approved credits from an associate degree may need about 60 additional credits to complete a bachelor’s degree, depending on the program and prior coursework.
