Nursing program at the University of Arizona Global Campus earns decade-long CCNE accreditation, leading the way in nursing education

November 17, 2023

[Chandler, AZ, November 16, 2023] – The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) has granted accreditation to the University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC) baccalaureate degree program in nursing for a full 10-year term, extending until December 31, 2033. This accreditation reaffirms the commitment of UAGC to maintaining the highest standards of nursing education and excellence in the field.

The CCNE Board of Commissioners made this monumental decision during its meeting on October 3-6, 2023, effective from March 15, 2023, marking the first day of the program's recent CCNE onsite evaluation.

"This accreditation from CCNE is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our faculty and students,” said Gwen Morse, professor and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program chair at UAGC. “It reaffirms our commitment to delivering top-tier nursing education and sets a high bar for excellence."

The CCNE evaluated the program using the CCNE Standards for Accreditation of Baccalaureate and Graduate Nursing Programs (2018) and determined that the program met all four accreditation standards without any compliance concerns regarding key elements.

"This accreditation reinforces UAGC as a leader in nursing education and exemplifies our commitment to fostering a learning environment that promotes excellence and innovation,” said Tony Farrell, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at UAGC. “We are thrilled with this recognition and will continue to provide exceptional nursing education."
