Sarah B. Steinberg

As Provost and Senior Vice President, Dr. Steinberg is a senior strategic leadership advisor/mentor with a focus in a variety of areas related to the transformation of adult education, including organizational development, innovation in retention and degree completion, workforce development, national and international academic programming, and the intersection of technology and education at the forefront of online and onsite adult education. Prior to becoming the Provost and Senior Vice President, she served as Chief of Staff in the Office of the President and continued in that role as she began serving as the Interim Provost in early January 2022.

Prior to joining UAGC, Sarah served in a number of leadership roles at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Over a tenure of 20 years, Sarah advanced into central leadership roles as Executive Director, Senior Associate Dean, Vice Provost for Student Affairs, and Executive Vice Provost for Online and Graduate Part-time Education.

In 2014, Sarah founded a nationally recognized higher education consulting firm, Frogstone Strategies, specializing in advising leaders of adult and online education. She has been an advisor to university presidents and other senior leaders on strategic planning issues related to the rapidly expanding field of professional and continuing education online and onsite. She has also worked with edtech firms in the higher ed eco-system, advising on strategies to effectively create partnerships with universities and colleges domestically and internationally.

Sarah received her B.S. and master’s in Civil Engineering from Cornell University, an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Northwestern University, and a Doctorate in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania. She is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania and Georgetown University.
