Biography
Dr. Tony Farrell serves as the Dean of the College of Professional Advancement at the University of Arizona Global Campus, where he leads the academic vision and strategic direction for five divisions, ten departments, and more than 80 full-time faculty. He holds graduate degrees from National University and the University of Oklahoma, and earned his PhD in Special Education from the University of Hawaii. Dr. Farrell’s career spans the full spectrum of education—beginning as an elementary and high school special education teacher, advancing into school administration, and ultimately moving into higher-education leadership where student success, access, and opportunity remain central to his work. He is deeply committed to UAGC’s mission and especially values supporting working adult learners, a journey he personally understands from his own educational path. Known for championing a culture of care, collaboration, and continuous improvement, Dr. Farrell believes in the transformative power of education and encourages students to stay organized, stay connected, and lean on their instructors as partners in their success. He and his wife live in Carlsbad, California, and are the proud parents of four children.
