Dr. Tisha Shipley

Biography
Dr. Tisha Shipley is a Professor of Early Childhood Education Program at the University of Arizona Global Campus. She has also been the chair of the Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Administration program at UAGC. She received a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Northcentral University, a master’s degree in Elementary Education/ Administration from Northwestern Oklahoma State University (NWOSU), and a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from NWOSU. Dr. Shipley was on faculty at NWOSU, where she taught all of the Early Childhood Education courses in her position as the Early Childhood Coordinator. She has taught multiple grade levels at Moore Public Schools (MPS), including pre-K children and gifted 3rd-6th graders, and served as a cheer sponsor and a principal for MPS. Before making the move to UAGC, Dr. Shipley was the Director of Pre-School Programs at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith. Here at UAGC, she is eager to work with aspiring teacher candidates who are excited about making a difference in young children’s lives. She says, “Online colleges afford everyone the opportunity to receive an education, and an education is something no one can take away from you. Education will take you far in life. Incoming students: get to know your professors, ask for help, make friends, and work hard. Most importantly, love what you do!
Dr. Shipley lives in Tyler, Texas and is married to her Middle School Sweetheart!
She is the Co-Director of the Early Childhood Conference at UAGC and her and a colleague have a podcast called Early Childhood Chatter. She is a life-long learner and loves research!
