Biography
Stephanie Heald has a PhD in Education, a MS in Education, a BA in Elementary Education, and an AAS in Early Childhood Education. She also holds a dual advanced certificate in Building and District Level Educational Leadership from St. John’s University, where she graduated Kappa Delta Pi. She is currently an Assistant Professor at UAGC in the BA ECEA program. Her education journey has included higher education online and in a traditional setting, district and school wide professional development, elementary classroom teaching, and literacy coaching and mentoring. She currently co-hosts a bi-weekly Podcast called ‘Early Childhood Chatter’, co-hosts the UAGC Early Childhood Education Virtual Conference and is an advisor for the UAGC ECE Club. While moving to five different states in as many years, Stephanie immersed herself in the local schools in addition to connecting online with educators across the world. This immersion not only allowed her to meet educators and see local efforts but opened her eyes to the real need for global quality learning experiences accessible to all. In 2018, she traveled to Haiti where she was able to instruct in a local school and truly saw how the power of one could make a difference. It was then that she adopted the philosophy, ‘One to the First Power’ and has since been sharing this message with students and schools. She has been recognized for her Service in her Assistant Professor role and locally for her personal humanitarianism role.
