Biography
Ronald Beach, Ph.D., is an expert in virtual leadership, an award-winning author, a speaker, and the founder of an online education consulting firm. He is also a professor at the University of Arizona Global Campus. He holds a Ph.D. and a Master's in Organization and Management from Capella University and a Bachelor of Liberal Studies from the University of Oklahoma. Beach started working in higher education as an adjunct faculty member and has held numerous roles such as Lead Faculty, Program Chair, and Associate Dean, working within all levels of the university from AA to Doctoral. Dr. Beach served as a United States Marine Corps electronic countermeasures technician during the Vietnam War. He has over 25 years of experience in the high-tech industry with such companies as Hitachi, Western Digital, Emulex, and LSI/Engineo, rising to the position of Senior Director of US Manufacturing. He has written several books, including the award-winning The Virtual Divide and The Virtual Bridge, which focus on managing and leading remote teams. As an organizational sociologist, he is certified in the Belbin Team Role Assessment, a qualification he earned in Cambridge, England. Dr. Beach has served on several boards of directors and was a reserve police officer for the Santa Ana Police Department. At UAGC, Dr. Beach currently teaches courses in business leadership, statistics, and operations management. Dr. Beach now enjoys volunteering, taking cruises, and is a Titanic history buff. He and his wife of 54 years live in Chewelah, Washington.
