Biography

Dr. Kristin Ballard is the Program Chair for the Bachelor of Science in Human Services Leadership, Bachelor of Arts in Health and Human Services, Master of Arts in Human Services, and Doctor of Philosophy in Human Services programs within the Global College of Professional Advancement, specializing in Health and Human Services Professions at the University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC).

She previously served as the University Faculty Senate President for University of the Rockies prior to the University’s merger with Ashford University (now UAGC) in October 2018 after serving over eight years in appointed and elected governance leadership positions. She completed her appointment as Doctoral Advisory Committee (DAC) Co-chair in June of 2023. Dr. Ballard has been with the organization since 2007.

Her professional background includes extensive work in the domestic violence field and the non-profit sector. In addition to her academic leadership, she operates a consulting business and has contributed significant volunteer work supporting military and veteran families. Earlier in her career, she began as an art student at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh and managed a freelance art business before discovering her true passion—the behavioral sciences and teaching.

Dr. Ballard holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Maryland and a Ph.D. in Human Services from Capella University. She has also completed graduate coursework in Professional Counseling and Education (Course Design) at Capella University.

She resides in Alaska with her husband, two of her three adult children, and their lively German Shepherd along with an Alaskan Yup’ik village rescue dog.
