Biography
Dr. Karen Lynne-Daniels Ivy is a visionary higher education executive with more than two decades of leadership in business, engineering, and technology education. As Department Head and Full Professor of Technology Studies at the University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC), she oversees strategic direction, faculty leadership, and curriculum innovation for interdisciplinary programs spanning information systems, cybersecurity, AI, and management.
Dr. Ivy has led national accreditation initiatives with ABET, IACBE, and WSCUC, guided the development of stackable credentials and AI-enhanced curricula, and expanded enrollment by more than 40% through strategic portfolio redesign. Her approach integrates “Whole-Human” learning—linking academic rigor with well-being, career alignment, and social impact.
Before entering academia, Dr. Ivy held senior management positions at Lockheed Martin and 3M Company, where she directed enterprise-wide IT strategy, global vendor partnerships, and multimillion-dollar system integration projects. She is widely recognized for her leadership in digital transformation, AI ethics, and the responsible use of emerging technologies in education and workforce development. Her focus of research includes Artificial Intelligence integration in education, leadership self-efficacy, cybersecurity, digital ethics, interdisciplinary technology innovation, AI ethics, student self-efficacy, and leadership development.
