Biography
Dr. Beck is an Associate Professor and Lead Faculty in the Division of Health & Behavioral Professions, bringing over 40 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in progressive leadership roles. Dr. Beck's background includes serving as Dean, Chief Nurse Administrator, Executive Director, Nurse Manager, and Consultant.
In acute care settings, Dr. Beck provided executive oversight for all hospital departments, including fiscal and project management, as well as staffing for multiple nursing units. Dr. Beck developed and implemented numerous quality improvement initiatives and served on advisory panels.
For the past 25 years, Dr. Beck has worked in academic environments, leading the start-up and launch of new nursing programs at three different academic institutions. Dr. Beck obtained CCNE and HLC accreditations and designed the curriculum for each program, while providing executive oversight of multi-site campus systems.
Dr. Beck has taught in doctoral, graduate, and pre- and post-licensure programs, offering instruction in traditional campus-based, hybrid, and online formats. Teaching experience includes didactic, capstone, and practicum courses in BSN, RN-BSN, BHA, MHA, MSN, and DNP programs, as well as mentoring students in research projects.
Dr. Beck is a published author and has presented at several nursing conferences. Dr. Beck also serves on an editorial board and conducts peer reviews of manuscripts and presentation proposals.
