Biography
My wife and I live in the mountains of Western North Carolina where we enjoy outdoor activities including hiking, mountain bike riding, and canoeing. I grew up in the Midwest and I enlisted in the Marine Corps after high school. When my enlistment ended in 1987, I went to work for Northwest Airlines as an aircraft mechanic. While working full time, I went back to school and earned a degree in accounting at Clayton State University in Morrow, Georgia, and a law degree from Emory University in Atlanta Georgia. During my legal career I have worked as a prosecutor, a public defender, at the IRS, and in private practice.
I have been teaching online at UAGC and other universities for 13 years. I enjoy interacting with my students and sharing our experiences. I learn a lot from my students and I hope they learn a few things from me as well.
