Biography

Dr. Darla Branda serves as the Program Chair and Associate Professor in the Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management program. She is a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) and has over 32 years of experience in the profession.  Dr. Branda’s career began working in a level-one trauma facility in the Midwest where she served as a medical coder, peer review coordinator, and supervisor. Since then, Dr. Branda has dedicated her life’s work to health information management education. Her research interests center on professional practice experience and preceptor training. She is a proud veteran of the United States Air Force.
