Biography
Christopher Foster is an associate professor of philosophy at the University of Arizona Global Campus. He holds doctoral and master’s degrees in philosophy from the University of Kansas, with a specialization in the philosophy of logic and language. Prior to that, he earned a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in mathematics and philosophy from the University of California at Davis. He is currently program chair over philosophy at UAGC, overseeing PHI103 (Informal Logic), HON270 (Thinking Critically About Global Issues), and HON470 (Leadership in the 21st Century). He supervises a team of sixty philosophy instructors, encouraging them to embody the culture of care while instilling enthusiasm for philosophical reasoning in their students. He is a leader of live learning for philosophy and seeks to inspire students to apply critical thinking to make a difference within and beyond the classroom. He conducts research in logic, animal ethics, and pedagogy, including experiential learning in online classrooms.
