Biography
Carl Marquez is a core faculty at the Forbes School of Business & Technology at the University of Arizona Global Campus. He earned a Master of Science in Educational Technology from National University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from San Diego State University. Before joining the University of Arizona Global Campus as a full-time online assistant professor, Carl’s 25-year educational experience starts from elementary school all the way to college and University. He has worked in the front office, student information systems technician, high school teacher, high school sports coach, curriculum developer, staff developer, and college/university teacher of various schools. In addition, Carl has earned several certificates and certifications from Microsoft, CompTIA, HP, and Cisco. As a systems analyst with the government, Carl gained valuable experience with information systems management, cybersecurity, database security, budget management, and project management. He has improved the efficiency of many processes and systems.
Carl is really into sports. He likes to play and watch professional sports. Throughout his lifetime, he’s rotated many different sports, including basketball, football, bowling, tennis, wrestling, and martial arts. Currently, he runs, golfs, plays in softball leagues, jogs with his Husky. Carl is also a computer enthusiast and embraces technology. As technology changes, he likes to evolve with it. Carl enjoys watching Science-Fiction or action movies/shows. Finally, he served in the United States Marine Corps.
His goal is to motivate the students and believes that every student has the ability to learn through rigorous study and practice. Carl thinks that learning will always be a part of your life and will never stop. He trusts the key is keeping motivated and engaged throughout the process. Carl also has confidence that with the opportunity to learn, the proper guidance, and some hard work, all students have the chance to be successful.
