Biography
Dr. Connie Lower is part of the core faculty in the Academic Engagement Center. She is a member of the launch team responsible for Student Success Orientation, ASH 101, and GEN 102. She has been a faculty member since 2008. Dr. Lower has a Doctorate in Education with a specialization in the Instructional Process and a Certification for the preK-12 Superintendency from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, as well as a Master of Science in Educational Administration and a Bachelor of Science in K-9 education from Illinois State University in Normal. She began her education experience as a science teacher and subsequently entered administration as a public school assistant superintendent and superintendent before moving into higher education.
Dr. Lower has always been passionate about education and the opportunity to assist others in attaining their goals, whether pre-schoolers or adults. “The University of Arizona Global Campus has students who are serious about upgrading their lives and the lives of their families,” she says, “and the UAGC staff members are all tremendous individuals who wish to give these non-traditional students a chance.” To prospective students, she says, “You are here at UAGC because you have a dream of fulfilling a goal that will make your life comfortable and full of joy. Everyone at UAGC believes in you and will serve as your support system and cheerleaders when you need motivation to continue on!” Dr. Lower lives in Lanark, IL, and she and her husband shepherd a large family who are committed to rural values and equality for all. Farming is a big part of their lives.
