Cohort Retention, Persistence & Graduation

Online Modality Terms and Information
The academic calendar for the online modality at the University of Arizona Global Campus is continuous, rather than defined by semester dates. Typically, students take one course at a time and move to the next course in the program sequence without a break, although students may take an approved break of up to 45 days between classes without being withdrawn from the program. All courses begin on a Tuesday and end five weeks later (undergraduate), or six weeks later (graduate), on a Monday. Undergraduate and graduate classes begin each week, with the exception of one annual two-week Winter Break when courses are not scheduled.

Retention, Graduation, and Persistence Rates
The University of Arizona Global Campus retention and graduation rates for its first-time, full-time bachelor's degree seeking students are reported to the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) and are publicly available on the College Navigator. Therefore, the College Navigator website only shows one year of retention rates. For your information, IPEDS retention rates are shown below for the last five years.

The majority of the University of Arizona Global Campus bachelor's degree seeking students have had prior college experience, and therefore are not represented in the definition of first-time, full-time bachelor's degree seeking students included on the College Navigator website. Therefore, we present Annual Cohort rates which includes retention, graduation and persistence data for all students (first-time, transfer, and part-time) who matriculate to the University. Retention, graduation, and persistence data are available by degree level, and student characteristics.
