The business of human resources has evolved in ways that can make it difficult for even seasoned professionals to keep up without acquiring new skills. “I was a high school dropout.” 

These are six words you might not expect to hear mouthed by a college professor. Yet, that’s exactly how the University of Arizona Global Campus Dr. Jackie Kyger describes himself before he discovered his passion for teaching and education. 

A funny thing happened when Miguel Alsop returned to college in 2016 to complete his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. 

“Shortly after I started, my supervisor told me to stop using such big words at work,” recalls our January 2021 Alum of the Month. “It made me laugh, and it made me proud. I didn’t realize my vocabulary was growing and changing so much.”
