Since 1944, the GI Bill® and its successors have allowed American service members to earn a degree and unlock their collective post-military career potential.

Known as “Rocco” by many, this TV actor and our June 2021 Student of the Month honoree wears many hats. He is also a father, author, and as an advocate for veterans, he is on a mission to change the conversation about veteran mental health and the often challenging transition from military to civilian life.

We’re halfway through 2021, and summer is upon us. With hard work, dedication, and positive thinking, our students are staying focused in order to reach the goals they set for themselves this summer. It’s the perfect time for you to also reassess your goals and establish new ones as you plan to move forward and conquer the rest of 2021! 

Thomas Stallworth II never imagined he would have a job working with a sports team he has cheered for since he was a child growing up outside of Atlanta.

Granted, he has been a fan of athletics ever since he can recall. His father played baseball; his grandfather was a huge fan of the sport; Thomas grew up playing football and baseball; and it became somewhat of a tradition in the family to watch games together.

The University of Arizona Global Campus Spring 2021 Commencement will be one for the books. For the first commencement as UAGC, we will be honoring all of our spring graduates in a special virtual commencement on June 6, 2021. 

While our graduates plan to celebrate their major accomplishment of earning a college degree from afar, they have an opportunity to think about just how far they’ve come since the first day they began classes.

As the world began to move further online at the onset of the 21st century, so too did the field of higher education. Now, as we make our way through the 2020s, the explosion of online learning has upended traditional academics, with more schools expanding their online offerings and companies providing workers with online training to update their skills.

“I never would’ve imagined myself being where I am at today, even 15 years ago,” says University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC) faculty member Dr. Emad Rahim. Although it’s a statement he makes humbly, it only takes a few minutes of hearing his backstory to realize just how far he’s come.
