Dr. Michal Strahilevitz

Michal Ann Strahilevitz is an Endowed Professor of Responsible Leadership and the Elfenworks Center for Responsible Business Director at Saint Mary's College of California. She is also an Honorary Research Fellow at the SMART Research Center at the University of Wollongong in Australia. Michal earned her Ph.D. in marketing from the University of California at Berkeley.
Michal has won multiple teaching and research awards from more than one university. Her favorite topic to teach is the Science of Happiness and Well-being. She also enjoys teaching various marketing and research courses to graduate, undergraduate, and executive students. She is regularly quoted in the media on topics related to well-being, marketing, psychology, and behavioral economics in outlets including New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and The Washington Post. She has won multiple teaching and research awards from more than one university.
Much of her published research focuses on how emotions affect decision-making in areas related to well-being, shopping, eating, investing, and donating to charity. She has published in the Journal of Consumer Research, the Journal of Marketing Research, the Journal of Consumer Psychology, the Journal of Business Research, Marketing Letters, the Journal of Nonprofit & Public Sector Marketing, and the Journal of the American College of Radiology. She has a blog on Psychology Today and a Podcast on Happiness and Well Being called the Happy Podcast.
