Biography

Ted Ellis is an Assistant Professor within the College of Arts and Sciences for the University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC), teaching in the Social and Criminal Justice program (BASCJ) and in the Master of Science in Criminal Justice program (MSCJ), within the Department of Behavioral Sciences. Ted holds a Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of Idaho, a Master of Science (MS) in Criminal Justice with a concentration in analysis of criminal behavior from the University of Cincinnati, and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in international development with a major in security studies and a minor in political development from the University of Southern Mississippi. Ted’s interests include theories for justice, corrections, and policies, and his conference activities include multiple conference presentations and service as a discussant for a conference panel. His most recent conference papers and interests focus on data in corrections. He is published as a contributor to a corrections textbook and is a member of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, a member of the Midwest Political Science Association, and a member of Phi Kappa Phi. Ted’s experience prior to teaching includes several years of work as an attorney. Ted is passionate about the UAGC mission statement and about teaching, and he seeks to inspire students in the UAGC BASCJ and MSCJ programs to form their approach to UAGC courses with questions.
