A commencement ceremony is a time for celebrating accomplishments. With it comes a number of traditions that have emerged as a way to commemorate this special occasion. One of these traditions is the ever-so-popular cap decorating.
This year, we'll be celebrating our Spring 2021 graduates with UAGC's first virtual commencement ceremony, and one of the ways we encourage you to get into the spirit is to decorate your caps at home.
In honor of the Spring Class of 2021, we’ve put together a list of 21 amazing cap decorating examples that cover just about any topic you can think of to get your creative juices flowing. A few are from our Class of 2021 graduates. Some are from commencements past. But all are sure to inspire you to create the most amazing graduation cap!
Once you've designed yours, be sure to share it on social media using #UAGCgrad21!
Going to college while juggling life and work isn't easy. But you pushed through and reached your goals.
2. Reflect on Your "Why"
Someone in your life is looking up to you, and you did not stop because they believed in you. Now, you are showing them that anyone can do it!
If there’s one thing people can take away from your big achievement, it’s inspiration. Use this opportunity to say a few words to motivate others.
4. The Future is Bright:
You may not have done it all, but you will! Display your positive thinking on your cap!
5. Thank the Family:
So many UAGC graduates say they earned a college degree for their family, and honoring yours on your cap is a great way to express this gratitude and emotion.
It takes determination to go after what you want. Let others know they can do it too!
7. Superhero Status:
Embrace your inner superhero! After all, earning your degree takes some special powers of determination!
8. Words of Wisdom
Whether you have one favorite go-to quote, or you have too many to pick just one, share these words of wisdom on your graduation cap!
9. Pushed Through the Pandemic
Need we say more? Unfortunately, the pandemic stretched into 2021 and you felt the struggle. This is something not many of us will ever have to do in a lifetime. Why not capture it on your cap?
10. Home Sweet Home:
Represent the city you live in and love.
11. Simple and Elegant:
Smart is beautiful, and your cap can be, too.
12. Your Favorite Movie:
Why not have a little fun and use your favorite movie to express your excitement over graduating?
You put your best foot forward. If you love fashion, represent it on your cap!
14. Your Degree:
You chose your degree for a reason, and now it’s time to celebrate earning it.
Why should the kids have all the fun? After all, when you wish upon a star . . .
16. Pun Fun:
Sometimes simple is better, but just make it clever!
17. Parent Life:
You juggled a lot to earn your degree, and it’s totally fine to brag about it!
A popular song can make for a great play on words.
At some point in time there is a good chance you called on a higher power to help you through some of the challenges you faced while earning your degree. Whatever your faith, your cap is a great place to share gratitude.
They say laughter is the best medicine. Why not make a few people laugh at commencement!
If someone you love was not able to celebrate with you, keep them in your thoughts by honoring them on your cap.
