Biography
Dr. Stephanie Anderson is the Lead Faculty for Doctoral Research in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Prior to joining the university in 2014, Stephanie earned both her MA and PhD in Social Psychology from the University of Kansas, where she specialized in cultural psychology with a research focus on the cultural grounding of personal relationships and the importance of attraction. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology (with a minor in Spanish) from University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK). She has previously taught at Central Community College in Hastings, NE, and the University of Nebraska in Kearney, NE.
At UAGC, Dr. Anderson serves on the Student Community Standards Committee and the Academic Integrity Faculty Coaching Subcommittee. She is also a member of the Honors Program Advisory Board and Curriculum Subcommittee. In addition, she is a faculty advisor for the Psych Club. Within the university, she has been awarded the dedication award (2016) and was selected as faculty of the month (2019). In addition, her collaborative efforts on the Instructor Presence Module Series aimed at promoting student success resulted in external recognition through the prestigious OLC "Effective Practice Award" (2019). She has presented her research across the U.S. and internationally, with numerous presentations and publications.
Dr. Anderson resides in central Nebraska and enjoys being active in her local community.
